Reese Makayla

She is here!!!!! She got here fast, but not without some little complications. On Tuesday Jan 26th I woke up at 2:30 am and my water had broken. No contractions had started so I waited it out at home. About 5 am I finally woke Blake up to tell him what was going on....he jumped out of bed and into the shower! haha!
We got to the hospital about 5:30 and I was dilated to 3cm. By about 8am the contractions had started and were pretty strong. I took a bath and at 9am my doctor came into check me and I was at a 5 now. At that time I was hurting and asked for an epidural.
Oh the epidural was fun....not! A new guy did it while a teacher talked him through it at about 10 am. He had to redu it 3 times and I kept getting sharp pains down both sides when he was trying. Having contractions while he was messing up and causing me pain and worrying about a huge needle going into my back all ended with me in tears....never moved an inch though! When he was finally done I lied on my right side and it went numb so they had to switch to my left. The left side and lower never went numb. They said to just wait it out and we would see what would happen....not fun. I started to spike a fever and had the shakes SO bad.
So at 11:50am Dr. Harrison came back in to check me again and I was at an 8. Blake asked about how much longer and she said about 2 hours. She left the room for about 5 minutes and then came back in because Reese's heartbeat was getting low, my fever was getting higher and my blood pressure was raising. She said she had to put a little needle in Reese's head to monitor her heart and another tube to monitor my contractions (since I was moving around in so much pain the outside monitor was not staying still). So when she went to put that in me I felt it all and she was worried that I could feel that. But she checked me again while putting those in (now it is like 11:55am) and I was passed a 9! She said Oh we are not waiting 2 hours, we are going to have this baby now! Blake called Becky and my Mom who had just left to get some water. They got back to the room about 12:05pm.
At this point I was in a bunch of pain and the anesthesiologist was not with me to help me out...damn him!
I shortly after had the urge to push and Becky went into the hall to get Dr. Harrison. I began pushing at 12:10pm. While pushing Dr. Harrison said that Reese's heartbeat was dropping very low and I needed to get her out now. She yelled to get every doctor and nurse into the room now. Scary.... She let me know that Reese was not coming onto my chest and was going straight with the other docs. She then said she was giving me an episiotomy(sorry too much info)and then said they had to use the vacuum to get her out. At 12:32pm she was born and was able to be on my chest for about 10 secs while Blake cut the cord. They took her over to the bed real fast and she was not crying. I could not see her and I was so scared. Finally I heard her and she had to stay over there for 45 minutes with those docs and then finally came to me! She had a fever at first, but it went down fast. She was 6lbs 14.7 ounces and 19 inches long!
We had to stay in the hospital for 4 days because my fever did not go away for 2 days and then she ended up having very low blood sugar. We finally found out what was going on with that, got it fixed and got to come home Friday!!!!!!!
