Reese Makayla

She is here!!!!! She got here fast, but not without some little complications. On Tuesday Jan 26th I woke up at 2:30 am and my water had broken. No contractions had started so I waited it out at home. About 5 am I finally woke Blake up to tell him what was going on....he jumped out of bed and into the shower! haha!
We got to the hospital about 5:30 and I was dilated to 3cm. By about 8am the contractions had started and were pretty strong. I took a bath and at 9am my doctor came into check me and I was at a 5 now. At that time I was hurting and asked for an epidural.
Oh the epidural was fun....not! A new guy did it while a teacher talked him through it at about 10 am. He had to redu it 3 times and I kept getting sharp pains down both sides when he was trying. Having contractions while he was messing up and causing me pain and worrying about a huge needle going into my back all ended with me in tears....never moved an inch though! When he was finally done I lied on my right side and it went numb so they had to switch to my left. The left side and lower never went numb. They said to just wait it out and we would see what would happen....not fun. I started to spike a fever and had the shakes SO bad.
So at 11:50am Dr. Harrison came back in to check me again and I was at an 8. Blake asked about how much longer and she said about 2 hours. She left the room for about 5 minutes and then came back in because Reese's heartbeat was getting low, my fever was getting higher and my blood pressure was raising. She said she had to put a little needle in Reese's head to monitor her heart and another tube to monitor my contractions (since I was moving around in so much pain the outside monitor was not staying still). So when she went to put that in me I felt it all and she was worried that I could feel that. But she checked me again while putting those in (now it is like 11:55am) and I was passed a 9! She said Oh we are not waiting 2 hours, we are going to have this baby now! Blake called Becky and my Mom who had just left to get some water. They got back to the room about 12:05pm.
At this point I was in a bunch of pain and the anesthesiologist was not with me to help me out...damn him!
I shortly after had the urge to push and Becky went into the hall to get Dr. Harrison. I began pushing at 12:10pm. While pushing Dr. Harrison said that Reese's heartbeat was dropping very low and I needed to get her out now. She yelled to get every doctor and nurse into the room now. Scary.... She let me know that Reese was not coming onto my chest and was going straight with the other docs. She then said she was giving me an episiotomy(sorry too much info)and then said they had to use the vacuum to get her out. At 12:32pm she was born and was able to be on my chest for about 10 secs while Blake cut the cord. They took her over to the bed real fast and she was not crying. I could not see her and I was so scared. Finally I heard her and she had to stay over there for 45 minutes with those docs and then finally came to me! She had a fever at first, but it went down fast. She was 6lbs 14.7 ounces and 19 inches long!
We had to stay in the hospital for 4 days because my fever did not go away for 2 days and then she ended up having very low blood sugar. We finally found out what was going on with that, got it fixed and got to come home Friday!!!!!!!

2010!!!

2010! Wow when we were young this year seemed like it would never come!
We had such a great and blessed 2009. In March we went to Hawaii for my brother Shawn's wedding. This was also when we decided to start a family! We did not know how long we would have to try, but in June (when I was 5 weeks along) we found out we were having a baby!!! I will never forget that day and how much excitement was running through me as I had to wait for 4 hours until Blake got home to tell him. There were plenty of smiles and tears when I told him.
In June I also started a new job in Palmer since we were moving out here in July. I hated leaving Anchorage Fracture and soon really hated my new job. The new job only lasted until the end of July and I am so happy it did not last a day longer. With a few small complications in my pregnancy Blake and I decided for me to not go back to work right away.
July 1st we moved to Palmer into our rental home. We were in love with the location and the house the minute we saw it. It was so great being close to family and friends.
The rest on 2009 was filled with family, friends, being pregnant and getting our house ready for little Reese!!!
2010 is going to bring us our first child. That alone will make this the best year ever! We have no plans for this year. We are just excited to meet our daughter and see where life takes us.

Winter is here!

The past few weeks have been full of visitors. Blake's parents stayed with us for a week before they headed back out to California for the winter. Lucky them on missing this snow! It was great having them here for a while. Blake and I got very used to them making us dinner every night! When you're carrying their first grandbaby they take good care of you. Then they left and we had the house to ourselves for a couple days. It was crazy not having someone here. That week got me used to having another person here when I woke up and Blake was already at work. But then our good friend Kim saved the day by coming up from Spokane and seeing us! Poor girl realized that pregnant people are not nearly as much fun at times. I had some not so good days while she was here. So we did a lot of hanging out and just catching up. After just recently losing her Mom I think it was nice for her to just relax and talk. We went into Anchorage to see all our friends at Anchorage Fracture (where we used to work) and then had dinner with them all another night. For the most part we putzed around Palmer! Now Blake just took her to the airport and it is back to just me in the house. She is missed already and can't wait to see her when she comes back in January. Wish I could do the Polar bear plunge with her again this year. Don't think Reese would like that though!!!
Now that it is just me during the days again I guess this is when my crafty side really needs to come out and I have to get busy on making things. I started Reese's first scrapbook yesterday and should try and finish that. I am making little things on the sewing machine and trying to get better at that. Hopefully my friend Tara will be able to help me on this one and teach me her talents!
There is now snow on the ground. On Saturday I asked Blake to put up our Christmas lights so we would not have to do it once there was snow on the ground and really cold and windy. He did it and then it snowed the next day!!! Trust me the lights will not get turned on until after Thanksgiving, but at least they are up now!!!!
I am now 27 weeks along and feeling good. Blake got to feel her kick on Sunday for the first time. We were so darn excited!!!!!
Okay so that is all for now with the life of the Aro's!!!!

Reese!

Okay so it has been a long time since I have been on here. I promise to start keeping it up to date! Pictures will come soon.
So as I am sure all of you know we are having a girl! Blake and I are so excited. Waiting until February is going to be hard. I know it will go by fast, but she is all I think about. Her name is Reese. We are having so much fun decorating her room. I sometimes just sit in there and think about when she finally gets here.
That is all for now, but I will be putting up pictures within a few days. Hope all is well with everyone!

17 Weeks and 1 day

I thought I should perhaps write a little something in this blog. I have been a slacker on it since we have moved to Palmer.
We love living here and I see someone in my family everyday. It is wonderful. My brother Greg just got married on Saturday, so all 6 of us are now married! I absolutely love all my siblings and their significant others. We all married such amazing people and we all get along so well. My brother Shawn is here from Hawaii right now and it is great hanging out with him.
On another note today is 17 weeks and 1 day! My sickness is still here and it is getting pretty tiring, but like I keep telling myself it is all going to be worth it the day I see this baby! I go to the doctor this Thursday and from there they will schedule my ultrasound to see what the sex is! It can be as early as next week. We are so excited. We have come up with names, but once we know the sex we will be able to concentrate more on boy or girl names. Blake is so excited to be a daddy. I have always known he would be, but never knew really what to expect once this time came. He is adorable though! I cannot wait to see this little baby in his arms. He cannot wait until I really start to get a belly. A few weeks ago we found out how much he loves pregnant bellies. Thanks Richell for being a champ and letting him touch your belly! He was so funny that night.
But for right now I am not working. My job here in Palmer did not work out and it is for the best that it didn't. The plan was to go back to work this month, but with a few things we have decided I might not go back until after the baby is born. That might change, but for now I am staying home and loving helping my family out with ANYTHING they need.
I will post pictures of our new home and my growing belly soon.

Good things come in 3!

New house! New Job! New BABY!
Blake and I just found out yesterday that we are going to be having a baby. We are SOOOOOO excited and I think we are both still in a little shock. hahhaha it is so crazy to think about.
We were going to wait for insurance and all that, but we were blessed with this baby now so we are very happy! Everything will work out just fine with insurance (fingers crossed really hard).
Not sure how far along I am yet. I will get on Blake's insurance July 1st and then I will make an appointment. For all you Moms out there expect lots of questions!
YAY!!!!
